The fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy! For generations, the MILLENNIUM FALCON has symbolised adventure, rebellion and imagination.

The actual Millennium Falcon measures approximately 34.75m in width, which was far too large to recreate at a 1:1 scale, so we focused on the iconic cockpit.

The team began with a digital model, mapping out every surface, lever, and glowing panel. The goal was to recreate Han Solo’s iconic freighter entirely from LEGO® bricks, and big enough for visitors to step inside.

The cockpit’s viewport is such a complex and iconic frame, so we had to use a steel core to support the thin struts of LEGO bricks. To recreate their form safely, we designed an internal steel ring that ran through the centre, acting like the ship’s skeleton. LEGO bricks were then built in radial segments around each steel frame, giving the appearance of a solid, curved ship frame while distributing the weight evenly across the structure.

BUILD HOURS

The Millennium Falcon’s interior is famous for having controls everywhere! Switches, buttons, lights, and panels, covering almost every surface. We tackled each of these elements individually, designing LEGO equivalents that captured the “retro-futuristic” look of the original ship.

Even the control yokes (the Falcon’s distinctive flight handles) made for a unique challenge. Their complex curves were recreated using a combination of SNOT techniques and smooth tiles to make them comfortable to hold.

Of course, no Millennium Falcon would be complete without its most famous feature, HYPERSPACE!

To bring that moment to life, we designed a custom interactive control panel and lever that lets visitors pilot the ship and blast into lightspeed for themselves.

The Falcon’s central dashboard was carefully modified to house pressable buttons and a working lever, with a cut-out designed to fit the mechanics beneath. Surrounding LEGO bricks and plates were layered seamlessly to blend everything into the cockpit’s design.

Follow the launch sequence and press the controls in the right order to engage the hyperdrive, but get it wrong, and you might just end up in the hands of the Empire!
